Ceiling fan and light fixture installation covers mounting and wiring new fans and light fixtures – chandeliers, flush mounts, pendants, and ceiling fans – properly secured and correctly wired for safe, reliable operation. This looks simple from the outside, but ceiling fans in particular need proper electrical box support to handle the weight and vibration of a spinning fan, which isn't something a standard light fixture box is rated for.
This is the right service if you're replacing an old fixture with something new, adding a ceiling fan to a room that currently only has a light or no fixture at all, dealing with a fixture that's wobbling, making noise, or was installed without proper support, or want fixtures installed correctly the first time rather than dealing with a DIY installation that's come loose or wasn't wired quite right.
We start by checking whether the existing electrical box is rated for what you're installing – this matters most for ceiling fans, which require a fan-rated box that can handle the weight and motion, unlike a standard light fixture box. If the existing box isn't adequate, we install a proper fan-rated box before mounting anything. We then wire and mount the fixture or fan securely, connect it to the existing switch or wiring, and test operation to confirm everything's working correctly and, for fans, that there's no wobble or noise. For new locations without existing wiring, we run the necessary wiring to the fixture point as part of the installation.
Cost depends on whether existing wiring and box support are adequate or need upgrading, the fixture's complexity, and whether it's a straightforward swap or an entirely new fixture location requiring new wiring. Homes in Elon, NC replacing older fixtures sometimes find the existing box isn't fan-rated, which adds a bit to the job but is necessary for a fan to be installed safely.
